![]() Sunday blessings! Here are some resources for you to celebrate Mass with your family this weekend. In this weekends Gospel we hear about the story of Lazarus, check out a video of the Gospel at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dca8SSxXCmM Our traditional resources for Mass are available under the "Family Resources" tab. Here also is a great guide from Holy Heroes to Mass at home with kids, and further resources for this Fifth Sunday in Lent. https://blog.holyheroes.com/missing-mass-heres-how-to-use-this-time-to-teach-your-children-step-by-step-to-pray-the-holy-mass/ https://www.holyheroes.com/MassPrep-s/57.htm Have a blessed Sunday! Jen With the lack of public Masses and public prayer during this time - what better time to create a prayer space! What I enjoy most about tasking people with this project is that everyone comes up with something different, there is no wrong way to do it, and you can adjust the space throughout the changing times in your life, and even better for the liturgical season! Prayer spaces make the instant connection between church and home.
Need some help getting started - check out the tips below: 1. Find a space! It can be anywhere you'd like. Some ideas for spaces - the center of a dining room table, a coffee table, a mantle, a side table. You can also post pictures and notes on a refrigerator, or even your bathroom mirror, endless possibilities! 2. Items for your prayer space. What speaks to you? Art is a great visual way to connect, add a picture, even a printed out one will do, or one a child or grandchild creates. Statues can be used if you have those. A cross or crucifix. A fabric or cloth to mark the area as a special place. Candles. A bible or devotional that you are using. A storybook. The options are endless - it's your space! 3. Liturgical seasons. Once you have a prayer space set adding to it for the liturgical year becomes second nature. Adding different color fabric, prayer cards, blessed salt, plants, flowers. There is much to add! I've included some examples below - on this Create It Friday - share pics of either what you have or what you've created! They can be shared on our Facebook page or to my email Jens@stpaulchurch.org Blessings! Jen ![]() Happy Monday! As a mom also tossed into what has proven to be our new "normal" I know the constant barrage of resources coming your way might seem like too much. I am hopeful that by posting links to things on this page you can find these as you feel your family is ready for them! One thing I know that my family is really trying to focus on is some time each day for quiet prayer - "quiet" and "prayer" aren't always 2 things that go together with 5 kids cooped up in the house, but we're trying! Kids tend to be visual learners - and with that I was so happy to find a link online of an "oldie but goodie" The Rosary for today - complete with a visual of the Joyful Mysteries for Monday! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg3XpfrM6hM It's also a "Create It" Day! The word for today is to go along with our rosary is MARY - again you can use any medium you would like - crayons, paint, playdoh, legos, or maybe you have a favorite picture of Mary you would like to share! Post your pics to our Facebook page or email them to: jens@stpaulchurch.org Happy Weekend!
This weekends Gospel reading is long and can easily get lost on our younger bunch - check out this video that helped my kids to understand it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4qZ2KSbdxI Also - Mass resources for your family are below! We are so blessed to have companies that are offering great resources for free. Check out 2 of them below: https://us.magnificat.net/flipbook/KID/sample/20/ https://www.pflaum.com/documents/CC-Spring-2020-Leaflets-Online.pdf Happy Friday! It hardly seems like a week since we started on this journey of social distancing. The challenges presented are across all dimensions are unique, but especially during this time of uncertainty, our home faith life has the opportunity to flourish and to provide comfort to our children who are looking to us for direction. I hope to share resources via this page several times a week - there are lots of great ones being made available free to us right now! Know you are in our prayers - our parish staff is praying for each of our parishioners day in and out! The day we can be united again will be cause for a great celebration! Today's challenge ... Create IT! 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) we will have a draw it challenge. You will give your kids a word, let their creativity run wild, do they want to draw? paint? build something with Lego? sculpt with playdoh? We can't wait to see what they come up with! Today's word: CROSS When your creation is complete share a picture of it on our Facebook post - our parishioners will love seeing you show off your work!!! |
